Stephanie is the student representative for ProMedics at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. She is in her 4th year of the ‘Naturopathic Medical Program’ in New Westminster. She attended the University of Victoria, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. When she is not consumed with her studies she is often enjoying & exploring the Pacific North West while running, hiking or snowboarding.
Her role as the student representative for ProMedics involves being a liaison between ProMedics and the students at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. She coordinates product orders for the student body, as well as answers questions related to the products distributed by ProMedics. This involves having knowledge of the various products distributed by ProMedics and their indications. Once a year she facilitates ‘lunch and learns’ at Boucher Institute for students to attend. A Naturopathic Doctor presents on current and relevant educational topics over lunch. This year, Dr. Robyn Prescott ND spoke on Adrenal Fatigue & Botanical Prescriptions. Another opportunity to interact with ProMedics is at the Vendor Fairs. These are organized at Boucher once a term, and are an opportunity for the students to learn about products and engage with the companies represented at the school. This includes sampling products and participating in discussion of indications for different products to offer future patients. The position also includes the opportunity to attend Naturopathic Physician conferences. She will be representing ProMedics at the CAND Health Fusion Conference in Calgary this month, as well as the BCNA Conference in October.
